Name: Angelina deJesus Solomon
Born in Cape Verde Islands ,Brava and raised in New England, United States, this international designer is known as Angelina deJesus Solomon. Angelina graduated from Bay State College in 2008 with a degree in Fashion Design, while completing an internship with Newbury Tailoring. Over the course of her career, she has worked for a number of renowned designers including Joseph Abboud, PMK Design, Alexander's Bridal Boutique, Armani Exchange and Brahmin. She also holds a degree in Graphic Design from Bristol Community College- Fall River, Mass.
On September 28, 2013, Angelina made her Boston Fashion Week debut, unveiling her Angelina's Company 2013 Fall/Winter Collection at the Boston Winery. Since then, Angelina has shown two collections each year (Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer) at venues across New England. These collections are available for sale on her website – Angelinascompany.com. In addition, Angelina creates custom evening wear pieces for her clientele – which includes national and local celebrities.
In March 2016, Angelina was chosen to become one of the designers of NineteenthAmendment in partnership with Macy’s. In December 2016, Angelina entered into an agreement with a noted manufacturer in Los Angeles, CA to produce her ready-to-wear collections at scale. These are available through fine retailers and boutiques, as well as direct on the Angelinascompany.com website.
Angelina is very involved in charitable work in the community. She has created collections for several charities to drive fund raising, but her special focus has been on the “Our Children Our Future” organization. This charity sends school supplies and economic assistance to needy children in the Cape Verde Islands. December 2016 Ms. Angelina was nominated for Boston's best evening fashion designer at the Boston's fashion awards.
May 2017, Angelina's Company joined I M Boston. You can now visit their website and buy the latest collection as well. September 2017 Angelina created a collection for "Our Children Our Future" organization and raised over $2,000. A week later Angelina's Company was part of Catwalk for BMC Cancer Care. This event raised more than $350,000 for BMC's Cancer Care Center.
2017-2019 Angelina went back to school full time for Graphic Design and graduated June 2019 in hopes that this degree would help her in Massachusetts.
In the midst of preparing to move to NYC, in 2020 Angelina and her husband moved to Hong Kong, a 2 year job contract for him.Though Angelina was not able to find employment during the 2 years, she came out of it with a lot of experiences including Michelin Star Restaurants, Chinese Calligraphy Classes, and now she is able to speak beginner Cantonese from taking classes in Hong Kong. 2021-2022 She collaborated with a retail store/ Manufacturer in Stanley, Hong Kong. June 2022 Angelina & her husband finally moved to New York, New York where they are living in Hell’s Kitchen so Angelina can continue to pursue a job in the fashion industry and continue to work on her brand.
July 2023 Angelina started a Fashion Designer internship with Terry Singh for his Menswear S/S/ 2024 Collection. Angelina also had her first official New York Fashion Week S/S 2024 Fashion Show and she made the CFDA Calendar. The Show had 22 models and showed 41 pieces titled Introduction of Angelinadjs. Angelina collaborated with shoe designer John Ashford.
