Top 4 Nail Trends from the Spring 2016 Runways

This season, individuality was in full swing when it came to the beauty looks on the runway. And there’s no easier way to display your personality than with your manicure. From barely-there nudes to sparkly, grainy textures, here are five of our favorite Spring 2016 nail trends, plus some tips on nailing the looks.

The New Frenchie

The standard French mani was reimagined this season. Nail artists created a youthful twist on the classic by incorporating bursts of color or foil accents. At Monique Lhuillier, brightly colored tips provided an exciting contrast.

The Glitterati

Bejeweled and sparkly, glitter gives your nails texture and makes them shine bright like a diamond. At Delpozo, manicurist Julie Kandalec layered Essie’s Sparkle On Top over a nude nail bed for a dazzling effect.

Striped

The graphic minimalist design gets a reboot. Instead of the stark contrast of black against white, switch it up with metallics or punchy colors and try experimenting with varying widths. Models at 3.1 Phillip Lim sported variegated silvery stripes over a lush brown base.

Metal Head
From subtle sheens to bright chromes, metallics are the season's statement-makers to wear. At Reem Acra, Edwards devised a dreamy golden shine that reflected the iridescence of the designer’s Arabian Nights theme.
