4 New Luxury City Hotels to Watch in 2017

Hot off my high heels from the most prestigious luxury travel show in Cannes, France, International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), where I was busy gathering the latest luxury hotel news and trends direct from the top hoteliers in the world, here are 4 new luxury city hotels that should be HOT on your radar for 2017:

Palácio Tangará, São Paulo, Brazil

Oetker Collection is adding another masterpiece to their collection of luxury hotels with the opening of Palácio Tangará in the second quarter of 2017. With renowned Brazilian designers, Simonato and Patricia Anastassiad at the helm creating the hotel’s chic interiors, the 141 guest rooms and 59 suites will overlook the beautiful Burle Marx Park and will be exceptional in style and space. Foodies will love the Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, a signature restaurant, chef’s table and wine cellar. The hotel will also have a luxury spa and fitness center as well as a kids’ club. São Paulo is one of the most energetic cities in the world, and Palácio Tangará will be a welcome oasis.

The Silo, Cape Town, South Africa

If Cape Town wasn’t already on your 2017 bucket list, you need to put The Silo on your list. Liz Biden, the owner and brilliant mastermind behind the spectacularly chic Royal Portfolio (Royal Malewane, La Residence, Birkenhead House and The One Above) and her team are opening this very unique boutique hotel built in a historic grain silo complex on six floors above the (soon-to-open) Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). With only 28 rooms and one jaw-dropping Penthouse all designed in Liz Biden’s eye-catching style, the hotel will be perfect for foodies, artsy types and those who like small luxury in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world. Reservations are being taken now for stays beginning March 1, 2017.

Waldorf Astoria, Beverly Hills, California, USA

Just when you thought Beverly Hills couldn’t get any more glamorous, the new Waldorf-Astoria, Beverly Hills will open Spring 2017. Combining the California lifestyle with all the luxuries of the Waldorf-Astoria brand, the hotel will have 170 rooms and suites designed by the legendary Pierre-Yves Rochon (whose clients include Four Seasons George V and The Peninsula Shanghai.) This hotel will be an urban oasis and the first hotel for the brand on the west coast. Guests will pamper themselves in style at the new La Prairie Spa, nosh on cuisine by Jean-Georges Vongerichten and relax poolside in glitzy VIP cabanas.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, New York, USA

For a truly one-of-a-kind experience that will make you feel good about your stay, check into the new 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, one of New York’s most anticipated hotel openings slated for February 2017. After of a successful launch of 1 Hotel Central Park, this hotel is floor-to-ceiling designed with sustainability in mind using local greenery and reclaimed materials and defines itself as luxury, naturally. It’s artisanal and cool yet doesn’t compromise on the cozy factor. Each of 194 guest rooms and suites feature hemp-blend Keetsa mattresses, eco-friendly bath amenities and triple-filtered water. The pure and natural elements extend to the kitchen as well with celebrated chef Seamus Mullen overseeing a healthy and clean culinary experience.
