Ruby-red lips were all over the runway this season. Proof: Maybelline Color Sensational Loaded Bolds in Midnight Merlot made an appearance at Alice + Olivia—as well as three other fashion week shows. If there were a lipstick popularity contest, this would be the obvious winner.
Layers are always a good idea in the winter, and the eye makeup at Oscar de la Renta was no different. The bright, diffused look, intended to create a "smiley" eye, consisted of two M.A.C. Chromacake pigments—Cyan and Pure White—mixed together and applied all over the eyes. Then the upper lids were lined with M.A.C. Chromagraphic Pencil in Process Magenta for that flash of fuchsia.
There’s that persistent myth that lining your eyes all the way around with black eyeliner closes them off and makes them look smaller. That’s not the case when, as with the look at Balmain, it's blended up and around the eyelid until it just touches the wing. It has all the sultriness of a smoky eye with just a single shadow color.
