These Are the Biggest Makeup Trends for Fall 2017

Don't look to the leaves for inspiration — your autumnal glory will come from this season's earthy hues, rich textures and fresh takes on traditional fall trends.

Vampy Lips

Ruby-red lips were all over the runway this season. Proof: Maybelline Color Sensational Loaded Bolds in Midnight Merlot made an appearance at Alice + Olivia—as well as three other fashion week shows. If there were a lipstick popularity contest, this would be the obvious winner.

Powder Blue Eye Makeup

Layers are always a good idea in the winter, and the eye makeup at Oscar de la Renta was no different. The bright, diffused look, intended to create a "smiley" eye, consisted of two M.A.C. Chromacake pigments—Cyan and Pure White—mixed together and applied all over the eyes. Then the upper lids were lined with M.A.C. Chromagraphic Pencil in Process Magenta for that flash of fuchsia.

All-Around Eyeliner

There’s that persistent myth that lining your eyes all the way around with black eyeliner closes them off and makes them look smaller. That’s not the case when, as with the look at Balmain, it's blended up and around the eyelid until it just touches the wing. It has all the sultriness of a smoky eye with just a single shadow color.

Metallic Accents

This may be for the fall collection of Nicholas K, but we're getting serious Indian summer vibes with the bronzed skin and gold eyeshadow.
